Priscilla Kyung Ko

Priscilla Kyung Ko, a native of Seoul, Korea, made her New York solo debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall as the recipient of a Special Presentation Award of Artists International. Ms. Ko’s performance was praised by New York Concert Review for her “remarkable intensity and clarity of touch…The final movement (of Rochberg’s Carnival Music) was played to perfection.”

Holding a Master of Music degree from Peabody Conservatory of Music, she is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Maryland at College Park, where she is a recipient of the Chevy Chase Women’s Club Scholarship. Prior to studying with her current teacher, the internationally renowned Santiago Rodriguez, she studied with such distinguished teachers as Marian Hahn, William Doppman, Marilyn Neeley, and Thomas Schumacher.

Ms. Ko is the winner of many prestigious awards and prizes, including a top piano prize in the 2002 Mu Phi Epsilon Competition and first-prize in the Korea-Japan Fellowship Piano Competition. Performing extensively as a soloist and chamber musician, she gave recitals at The American Center of Polish Culture, Peabody Conservatory of Music, American University, The Embassy of Korea, and University of Maryland. She has also collaborated with such artists as Jung Ae Lee and Vanita Hall Jones. Ms. Ko has performed at The Kennedy Center as part of the Racial Harmony Music Festival, and recently performed with the Washington Symphony Orchestra at Constitution Hall.

Her most recent solo recital, under the auspices of Artists International Recital Management, at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City was a huge success, both with the critics and the audience. Her concert schedule for the next season includes a solo engagement at the prestigious Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York.

Ms. Ko served as Music Director for The Korea Foundation and The Embassy of Korea. Currently, she is on the faculty at Columbia Union College.
